Meet Matthew A. Toohey, BC-HIS, T.D.L.R.

Matthew A. Toohey, BC-HIS, is a third-generation leader at Brown Hearing Centers and a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist licensed in five states, including Texas and Louisiana. As the grandson of the company’s founder, Matthew brings both legacy insight and hands-on expertise to every aspect of patient care.

Matthew began working with Brown Hearing Centers in 2006, gaining experience across nearly every department of the business. After graduating from Lamar University in 2011, Matthew went full time with the company and earned his first hearing instrument license in Texas. He has been a member of the International Hearing Society since 2012 and achieved Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (BC-HIS) in 2016.

Matthew is also an active member of the Texas Hearing Aid Association and the Louisiana Society. He currently serves on the Texas Hearing Instrument Fitters and Dispensers Advisory Board, where he helps guide professional standards and regulatory practices within the state.

Known for his technical knowledge, patient-focused approach, and deep understanding of hearing aid performance, Matthew is passionate about delivering reliable, high-quality hearing solutions and continuing the family legacy of excellence at Brown Hearing Centers.
